McCain, Huckabee, Clinton and Obama

McCain, Huckabee, Clinton and Obama

As an American I’ve been watching the political moves of the presidential hopefuls since the beginning of December ‘07 (any sooner is pointless).  I am amazed at this turn of the presidential campaign more so than years past. Whether you are a liberal, moderate, or conservative, there has been upheaval after upheaval with some very surprizing results.

First let’s be clear: I am NOT a conservative or republican, then again I am not a liberal (moderate) or democrat either. I am just an American Joe out to do the best for his country, and that should never tow the party lines. What I want is the best person for the job, regardless of party affiliations which are meaningless in this day and age any way you look at it. A truer measure is whether a candidate is either the aforementioned liberal, moderate or conservative, neo or otherwise. Even those appellations fall far short.

To be honest stereotypes of any sort fall short of the mark. A man or woman is what they are, defined by their actions — period.

So the candidate that I felt was the flag-bearer for Christians and conservatives, Fred Thompson, is out of the race. There are many reasons why, none more prominent than the MSM’s (MainStream Media) total ignoring of his campaign. Even FoxNews which is usually fair and balanced (uh, well better than the others at least) gave him very little ‘face time’ on it’s various programs. To be fair, they gave more than the other networks combined ever did.

Which brings us to the crux of things. America is being spoonfed their candidates for president by the ‘powers-that-be’ in the media. Independent groups like WorldNet Daily valiantly try to adhere to nuetrality (and successfully so) but their audience, though wide, is not the same as the MSM’s. However, I find it interesting what we have been told in it’s absurdity and incompleteness.

Real news reporting or fact-finding (and checking) need not apply — and it didn’t!

1. That Rudy Gulianni was the GOP front-runnner
2. That Hillary Clinton was the democratic favorite
3. That Romney, McCain and company are conservatives
4. That Barack Obama leaned toward the middle (moderate)

And so on… We need not go over the details to know that the above statements are not true.

So here we are. What do we DO now that we are looking at McCain and Huckabee for the GOP and Clinton and Obama for the Dems? I’ve thought on this and came to an interesting decision (at least for me), I’ll vote McCain. With that said, I must explain that McCain is the antithesis to just about all I feel is right and just as a Christian. However I have my reasons as follows.

Of all the remaining candidates McCain (Mac) will do what the others won’t — fight the war on terror. This is important and something that is not clarified on TV, of course little is really clarified if it doesn’t fit the particular network’s political agenda. Huckabee won’t, and he is the most true to the conservative ideal, pundits be ignored. The Dems? Let’s not even laughingly go there.

So we have only ONE person willing to keep the USA safe. We have only ONE person who will prosecute the war to the end. We have only ONE who will not bend to the political consensus in his decision making. We have only ONE who has made known he is a one-term presidential hopeful, and consequently will NOT pander for votes by putting our country at risk. This can not be said of any other candidate currently running.

I would rather be upset and complain about Mac’s fiscal and social policies 4 years later, than be dead and unable to complain about any other president. Will his term be a mess? Yes. Will there need to be a massive reformation after his presidency? Yes. But at least the country will be here to pick up the pieces and move on.

The real nail in the coffin is the democratic side of things. Hillary is a known quantity and people know they won’t want her near the White House. The only candidate under Federal investigation, that should be enough to deter people from voting a Clinton back in. But Obama is a unknown.

Obama is a one-term senator that should not even be in the race, much less leading it (as of this writing). But the MSM have crowned him heir-apparent to the presidency without a real understanding of who and what he is. There is the fact that he was voted the most liberal of senators awhile back, but to dems that doesn’t hold sway. What should scare the dems to sanity is the fact that he has many ties to ‘questionable’ sources (read WND to find out more). There really isn’t a viable democratic candidate in the running.

And the dems know it.

Freedom isn’t free. Go figure!

Be blessed, be loved and be at peace,
