The Message Has Not Changed!

The Message Has Not Changed!

I have heard so many messages lately from liberal speakers about how Christ wants to meet people where they are that I had to say something about this. Yes Christ did meet people where they were but didn’t want them to stay there.

His message never changed……..Repent and be baptized. Repent means to turn away from your sinful life and go on the path He leads you on in order to be His disciple. He does not want you to have your one foot in the world. We need to be like light and darkness to the world and we cannot be doing that if we are doing the same things those in the world do.

Even when Christ met the woman caught in adultery He said “where are your accusers?” And seeing none He told her to “go and sin no more.” His message was consistent time and time again.

Paul’s message to the non-believer was Christ and He crucified. He did not have to give this to those who were already believers because he was busy training them to be good disciples. He was exhorting, admonishing, teaching, lifting up, calling them on their sin etc.

Church we have to hear this message loud and clear. We have to do a check of our walk and if we are not totally sold out to Him then we need to get sold out.

“But our friends will think we have lost it if we start preaching to them about Christ crucified.”

Who cares? Is it not more important to be doing what your Master wants than what your friends want? This is what Paul and the early Church fathers taught every chance they got.

……”but the Bible says they will know we are Christians by our love?” I love that song until I actually read what the scripture said. They will know we are Christians by our love one for another.” (John 13:35)

Are we to love non-believer’s? Of course but the greatest thing we could do and greatest way we could love them is by showing them our light in the world and praying them into the Kingdom. Not by accepting or condoning their sin.
